    PRT is a right-wing, pro-highway, anti-transit scam.

If you like trains, don’t give these hucksters any credibility.

Learn more about the PRT scam at the PRT is a Joke web site.

The Taxi2000 people have been around for quite a long time, but they haven’t actually produced any sort of prototype except for a 60m test track in a warehouse. And, even in the fairly hysterical world of PRT vs. anti-PRT propaganda they’ve got a bad reputation. The people who built the ULTra test track near Swansea actually have a (semi-)working system, so they might be better to link to if you want to link to a PRT site. (http://www.atsltd.co.uk/) I don’t like PRT, but those people actually built something.

Sorry, ULTra is also a fake.

    ULTra is FROG

I’m not exactly sure what’s fake about it; sure, it’s rubber-tired, but that doesn’t stop it from being the same stupid idea as the rest of the PRT designs out there. (And, really, if any of those designs ever found a sucker, which would be better; the sort of ultraflimsy monorail that Taxi2000 is shilling or a road? If it were my tax dollars going to waste, I’d much rather they go to waste on the ULTra cars.)

    Why waste money at all?

Public funding for PRT has been successfully blocked when rail transit supporters educate elected officials.

Here’s a resolution from Transit for Livable Communities that says it all about PRT:

    http://www.tlcminnesota.org/Resources/Local_Issues/Local-Index.htm#NoStatePRT

Enough money has been wasted on silly gadgetbahn ideas like PRT.
