Seems so long ago…

For some reason 2/19/2005 seems so long ago.  In the haze in the back of my head it seems like a day that I experienced when I was a pre-teen.   It is like one of those days where you can vaguely remember visiting your aunt’s house and playing with your cousins in the back yard.  I’m not exactly sure why my mind places this day where it does but that’s the way it is.

What’s the big deal with 2/19/2005?  That was the date I received a Canon 20D, a 70-200L f/2.8  lens and officially entered the world of DSLR photography.  I remember taking this photo and quickly putting the camera down to chimp.  I’m betting the power wasn’t even by me by the time I was admiring the image the back of the camera.   That day all the photos were more about the device  than anything else.  I was so happy to have a camera that was responsive and took crystal clear images that I was beside myself.  Was I thrilled?  You bet.

When I look at it I’ve only been using a DSLR for 5 3/4 years which adds up to about 1/8 of my life.  Still 2/19/2005 seems so long ago…
