Parked

Last night BNSF suffered another derailment.  This time on the Seattle sub at the Pioneer crossovers.  Putting the pieces together from railroadforums and news video it appears the northbound M-PASVBT went on the ground and sideswiped the passing U-EVEROO.  Fortunately no one was injured and only a minor amount of lye on the PASVBT spilled.  I’m sure there will be more about the cause as the investigation continues.

For Vancouver this derailment didn’t mean much other than all available tracks were used for parking.  This morning the Vancouver yardmaster slid this U-ROOINB into the NP Pass Track for holding.  Sidings in the gorge were filling up as nothing was being moved north up the Seattle sub except for traffic for Kalama.  In a day or so things should be back to normal.
